01-Dec-2015: Final Project

The EGG-cubator!

Learning the components:

We first had to learn to control the various components that would be used in the creation of our egg-cubator.

Learning to swap between relays meant that  two devices could be connected and set to run intermittently. This set the basis for power control and further component control.

Building:

  • May the building commence!!!!
  • Designs had to be made.... and LOW COST was a must.

  • *** Based after a vertical meat smoker.

  • Building could commence...
  • We started building a frame around the fan.

  • Keep warm if you're working in a poorly insulated shed.

  • Walls could then be added.

  • Eye protection is a must kids.

  • Before sealing everything up the egg rotator had to be built and inserted. Our design promoted cage free chicks.

  • Now we could seal all the edges and mount all the hardware.

  • Let the experimenting begin!!!!

  • Setup a station, maybe near a smoke alarm, the kitchen table was my safe bet.

  • Mark your egg so you know it rotated.

  • Preheat the oven ladies and gents.

  • Let's get ready to experiment.

  • Take a quick look from below.

  • SEAL IT UP AND LET IT RUN...  log that start time.

  • Check on the egg... did it rotate?

  • Is the egg at the desired temperature?

Data:

  • Use the tools that we've been given.

  • Now the data graphing, and modeling could commence... there is nothing in here about sleep.

  • ***FYI: McDonalds does not ask you to leave.
